About WASA
WASA (Westport Animal Shelter Advocates)
Westport Animal Shelter Advocates, or WASA, has been formed as a charitable not-for-profit organization to provide care and shelter to animals in the greater Fairfield County area. One of WASA’s initial efforts will be to raise funds to assist in the rehabilitation of the Westport Animal Control (WAC) facility in Westport, Connecticut. WAC is a no-kill facility and is operated by the Town of Westport. The facility is in need of significant repairs to the existing building to ensure that animals that are held there while awaiting a loving new home are are well cared for and properly sheltered. Often the animals that come into the WAC are the abandoned victims of neglect and abuse. At WAC, animals are given the time and loving care it takes to recuperate from trauma while loving homes are found for them.
